Chelsea Women score four inside 19 minutes
Bjorn headed in Katie McCabe’s cross after three minutes to give Sonia Bompastor’s side an early lead.
Malard added the second in the tenth minute from close range. Carpenter then reacted first after Anna Koivunen parried Lauren James’ shot, making it 3-0 in the 13th minute.
Malard scored again six minutes later. She thought she had completed a rapid hat-trick soon afterwards, but an offside decision ruled the effort out.
Chelsea’s only setback came when James had to be substituted in the 35th minute after going down as she tried to run on to the ball. The match report does not establish a diagnosis or a recovery timetable.
Beever-Jones and Dragoni add to the lead
After the break, Beever-Jones finished from Keira Walsh’s clever flick in the 57th minute to extend the advantage.
Dragoni completed the scoring nine minutes later. Assisted by Alyssa Thompson, she turned and finished low for her first Chelsea goal.
The Blues finished with 36 shots to Charlton’s six, and 11 efforts on target to the hosts’ one, according to the completed BBC match data.
