Rachael Adedini has signed her first professional contract with Chelsea, the club have announced. The 17-year-old forward joins the professional ranks, and the club’s announcement did not give the length of the deal.
Who is Rachael Adedini?
Chelsea call Rachael Adedini a promising young forward and describe Adedini as a dynamic and versatile forward who plays as a central striker and can also play out wide. She was born in Le Havre, has played for France Under-17s 24 times and has two caps at Under-19 level.
Rachael Adedini has played at three consecutive Women’s Under-17 European Championships since the 2023/24 campaign and scored nine goals across them, which the club say has made her stand out. That total equals Germany’s Shekiera Martinez as the all-time top scorer at the tournament. France reached the 2026 final and lost 1-0 to Germany, and Adedini took the Golden Boot after scoring in a 5-0 win over Poland and netting twice in a 4-1 win over Finland in the group stage.
The comparison with Martinez is the standout line for Rachael Adedini in the announcement: nine goals across three tournaments, level with the all-time record at the Under-17 Euros, from a player who is still only 17.
“A massive pride for me and my family”
Adedini said on signing: “I’m very happy to be here. I’m excited, and I’m grateful to be here. I’m thankful to God, and the reason behind this is because my brother’s a big fan, and we’ve always loved Chelsea, so playing here today is a massive pride for me and my family.”

The club added that everyone at Chelsea extends a warm welcome to Rachael and looks forward to watching her progress. Read the full announcement on the official Chelsea website, and see our latest Chelsea news. Rachael Adedini will now be hoping to build on that Under-17 form.
