Chelsea training steps up for Bournemouth: five games in 21 days

by Alex Matthews

Chelsea training is building towards Saturday 10th October’s home match against Bournemouth, with the club’s latest Cobham gallery showing preparations for a busy month.

The update from 6th October says the Bournemouth match at Stamford Bridge starts at 3pm. It is the first of five games in 21 days, with three of those fixtures at home.

The club names Marco Palestra and Danny Welbeck among the players involved. Levi Colwill, Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli and Wesley Fofana also took part in the session under Xabi Alonso and his coaching staff.

Some players were still away on international duty when the club published the gallery. However, the report is a snapshot of that session, not a full account of the squad after every international returned.

What the gallery does not confirm

Being pictured or named at training does not, by itself, confirm a place in Saturday’s team. The article does not announce the Bournemouth starting line-up, because it is a gallery rather than a team news update.

In particular, the Chelsea training gallery should not be read as clearance for Cole Palmer or Joao Pedro. Their availability needs a specific club update rather than an inference from a general gallery.

The useful confirmed point is that Chelsea’s preparations are continuing ahead of the return to Premier League action. The club says it will keep posting news from players at home and abroad on its official app and website.

That means further team news will matter more than guessing from who appears in individual Chelsea training pictures.

A specific club update, not a photo, is what confirms who is fit to face Bournemouth.
